MEMS/CMUT-based Ultrasound Probe Design Engineer
Description:
The design engineer will be responsible for architectural configuration, chip design and fabrication of CMUT-based ultrasound probes for various medical market applications. The candidate should also have deep knowledge of transducer-to-beamformer and system interface including front-end, image-creation and associated electronic devices including FPGA’s, DSP’s, core processors and leading-edge technology advancements. This candidate should have experience with all aspects of the product development lifecycle (from inception through design, development, testing, deployment and support), and have been involved in at least two full-lifecycle projects.
Required Experiences:
- 3+ years CMUT device/probe design experience within the ultrasound industry.
- Experience with design of ultrasound probe with particularly 2 D array configurations for 3D image construction and simulation tests for various configurations.
- Experience with development of send/receive image signal processing, PCB breadboard with FPGAs through ASIC, and interfacing with medical professionals strongly desired.
Required Knowledge Skills:
- Working knowledge of the following EDA tools: ModelSim, Synplify Pro and all Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Project.
- Modeling software experience, Finite Element Modeling using ANSYS and COMSOL and MATLAB.
- The ability to work on several projects simultaneously in a multi-disciplinary team environment and to maintain a sense of priorities while responding to daily interruptions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication & leadership skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Apply this knowledge for development of CMUT-based probe design.
- Work with other hardware and software engineers from design through concept, design, probe & front-end system integration, implementation, and verification.
- Must work closely with vendors, their engineering teams and the factory to ensure quality and reliability from concept design through stable production.
- Collaborate with 3D software engineers to achieve an optimized display image to delight and serve physician’s needs in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Education:
PhDEE/ME in CMUT specialty, or MSEE/ME plus 3-5 years experience in CMUT ultrasound development.
Important Note: Our engineers will be working on collaborative projects between Silicon Valley, CA USA and Gebze, Istanbul, Turkey offices. Suppliers, manufacturing and vendors will have global locations. This position will require travel approximately 20% of the time as needed to various locations based on the job assignments.
