Software Ultrasound 3D/4D Display Engineer
Description:
The software engineer will be responsible for the architectural configuration of the interface taking data from a CMUT-based ultrasound transducer receive beamformer and electronics and creating the software for 3D/4D (real-time 3D) graphical display in the Microsoft environment on a laptop computer. Software development and modification will focus on using the data from the CMUT transducer chip, the ultrasound embedded control subsystem, and the user interface to optimize resultant 3D4D images for various medical market applications. The candidate should also have deep knowledge of ultrasound system to display interface and will develop the digital signal processing algorithms in an embedded real-time imaging environment. Required Experience:
- Extensive experience in product development from conception to market.
- 3+ years software development experience advanced signal/image processing algorithms within the ultrasound industry.
- Experience with software control of ultrasound 2D probe array configurations for 3D/4D image construction and simulation tests for various configurations.
- 3+ years software development for Graphical User Interface (GUI) and embedded systems in ultrasound
- 5+ years experience with C++, XML, and MatLab software tools.
- Experience with ISO, FDA, or other regulated product development environments strongly desired.
- Demonstrated proficiency with requirements analysis, documentation, software test methodologies.
- Significant experience with embedded operating systems (Windows CE), hardware debuggers, Microsoft software development tools, and real-time systems.
Required Knowledge Skills:
- 3+ years of relevant 3D image software coding, software compatibility within various medical imaging environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency with software requirements analysis and documentation, software test methodologies, CM tools (i.e. ClearCase), and documentation tools (i.e. MS Office and Visio).
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Project.
- The ability to work on several projects simultaneously in a multi-disciplinary team environment and to maintain a sense of priorities while responding to daily interruptions.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication & leadership skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Apply this knowledge for development of a software interface to receive CMUT-based 3D ultrasound data, create the GUI environment for 3D/4D display in the Microsoft environment on laptops working with commercially available medical software.
- Work with other hardware and software engineers from design through concept, design, probe & front-end system integration, implementation, and verification.
- Must work closely with vendors and the factory to ensure quality and reliability from concept design through stable production.
- Collaborate with 3D software engineers to achieve an optimized display image to delight and serve physician’s needs in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Education:
Accredited Engineering Degree - BSEE/BSCS (MSCE preferred).
Important Note: Our engineers will be working on collaborative projects between Silicon Valley, CA USA and Gebze, Istanbul, Turkey offices. Suppliers, manufacturing and vendors will have global locations. This position will require travel approximately 20% of the time as needed to various locations based on the job assignments.
